Welcome to 3D Fanatic; an informal website dedicated to showcase my portfolio. I came into this world in the late 70s & was raised up in a small town at West Malaysia; who later received education in Singapore. After slogging quietly for about 4 & a half years in the construction industry, I'd decided to leave the industry to pursue for my future in the vast CG world.

Was trying to do either something cute or pretty.. Search thru the net for references & found no pretty babes, but lots of cuties. Here's a digital painting of a little bull dog that I like; done with Photoshop & tablet. Hope u guys like it as well.. |

I'm back to freelancing 3D modeling & animation ^^. It's been a rather fruitful half year in another industry fulltime learning something totally new to my career; looking at life & career from a totally new perspective as well. To me, it's not at all easy to do the switch. But in conclusion to all that, I would say I've grown & matured pretty much during this half year compared to my previous 3 years. I'm still growing though, don't be mistaken.. As I'll still be working as a Financial Consultant part-time. Frankly, I'm pretty excited about the outcome of juggling 2 totally different jobs in the near future. Will find a balance between the two, it's never meant to be easy. But hey, even if it doesn't turns out the way I wanted eventually, I'm not going to lose a single slice of my flesh! Take some risk occasionally if you wanted something unexpected in your life. Nothing venture nothing gain. |

Updated 2 of my previous freelance work for Lights & Shadows P/L. Finally the commercial was released in tv-mobile as told by a friend there. Did the modeling & texturing of Aimar & Ramos. |

Just got my hands on Painter. Tried experimenting around with the different brush type. Always fond of the look & texture of oil paintings. Thus did a simple painting 'Sunset' out of painter with their oil brush tool. Really cool piece of software, especially the color mixer. I guess it'll be my primary digital painting tool from now on. It seems more suitable for painting over PS. PS remains my first choice for texturing 3D models though. |

A BIG day for my career path. Once again I'm taking another huge step to do a major career switch from the 3D industry into the Sales & Marketing arena. It's a tough decision just like what I did 3-4 years back when I moved from the construction industry into doing 3D for media & entertainment. I never regret this though; this is life & I have to get through it myself. I've got my commitment, wants & plans for the future. Getting into S&M industry is just a milestone to my ultimate career goal. And that is to have my own businesses =) And yes, I still take in freelance job for 3D if my schedule allows ;) Last but not least, good luck to all you fellow 2D/3D artists; the future lies in your hands! |

After some advices from a 'preacher' friend mj. I'd decided to relook into removing some stuffs that's becoming obsolete. Thrown a few pretty old stillworks & rearrange the sequence of displaying the newer works first instead of last. Maybe it's a good time to update with more recent traditional artwork, it's been long since my last drawing. And here's the first one of the year. Pencil shading 'Ganges; The Holy River'. |

Here's another digital sculpting still render with Zbrush "Ex-Warlord" started quite sometime back. Something I did for fun & also to refresh my memory on anatomy of muscles. Started out with ZSpheres without an idea of what to sculpt. The character came out gradually. However I was unprepared on the posing, thus the stiff T-pose. |

Finally I can get to showcase the animations of Tiger Beer's informercial I did while freelancing in Vividthree Productions. It's not the final look though, haven't got hold of the released DVD yet. Will update again with the final look later. I have yet upload all the animations, haven't finish rendering out the roughs yet. Will upload as I go along. |

Another year has passed... Tried doing pencil sketches with a nice software Alias SketchBook Pro & it works pretty close to real life pencil. A casual sketch turns out to be a portrait of someone from my memory 'She' whom I've always wanted to draw but never made it to the end. Unfortunately it's still not close enough but that's my favourite portrait done so far. |

Uploaded 2 new animation cycles I did for an interview test of a local game studio; 'Man Walk Cycle' & 'The Super Stuntman'. Spent 2 days to work on these 2 tests. |

Completed another character animation project spanning 1 month. Very tight schedule but unexpectedly managed to finish it on time. Much of the credit goes to those who had plenty of sleepless nights overseeing the project & working on it at the same time. It's been a big push for my speed at character animation. However it's still not available for showing to the public as I'm binded by NDA. Earliest should be available for showing early next year. Same for the animation project I did for Lights & shadows in my previous freelance. Anyway, here's one digital sculpting work 'Mutant' I did during my free time at the end of the project in Vividthree. It's done for fun and also to try out this new toy Mudbox beta 2. It's a wonderful piece of software that got me very much hookup. It feels almost like playing with clay but keeping my hands clean :) Cooool.... |

Just managed to finish a freelance project for Lights & Shadows P/L. Am glad I took up this job, learned quite a great deal about character animation from the Animation Director Robert from Australia. Also having the plan of making another animation demo reel these few days or months to see how much I've improved over the 1 month. |

Have been under-performing recently. Been slacking around much while on a lookout for a perm job still. Anyway, been idling around way too long, so I decided to pick up my dusty wacom pen to play around with Zbrush. A baddy guy's head emerge after a while. That's the good thing about Zbrush - speed & fun. It's untextured though. Here's the page. |

Uploaded some of my pencil sketches in "Stills > rough sketches" at the bottom of the page. Been trying to concentrate more on postures & facial expressions for my sketching exercise recently. However you'll also get to see some pretty aweful sketches, please filter it yourself... sometimes I just don't have to mood to draw properly & I think it's alright to leave it as it is since those are categorised as rough sketches - supposedly to show the rougher side of me. Might consider grouping all my pencil sketches into one category; those sketches under "2D stills" were already quite outdated, will see how it goes. |

Re-uploaded my demo reel for the 2 QuickTime version. Managed to resolve some Quicktime compression headache; now smaller file size & much better compression quality :) Also added one simple animation done during my last freelance job. |

Here's my updated demo reel, it's been long since I wanted to remove the previous 2.5-year-old version... Also updated some of my works. How time flies... been ages since I last clean up this site. So here I am trying to update some of my stuffs. Been slacking (mostly..) for almost 4 months since this Chinese New Year; learnt quite a number of new tricks though during this period. Perhaps it's time to move on. Might try revamping this site with a better interface some time later while looking for a job in Singapore. Didn't really do much personal stuffs last year while working. Anyway, will try to draw more & work towards doing concept instead of just 3D. Trying to focus on character design now. ** Just an after thought, probably I'll consider setting up a personal blog here to contain those occasional "informal" notes & thoughts of mine. |

Added a test walk animation on one creature I did. Trying out on the default bones & skin tools. Kind of prefer some of the features available in the skin tool over character studio's physique; especially its paint weight feature which was lacking in my current CS, wonder why? Took some days off to do a digital painting "Missing You" using Photoshop. It's my first 'completed' digital painting done so far. Just can't discipline myself to finish some of my past WIP painting... Nonetheless, this is my favourite piece of 2D painting done :) Also threw in some of my recent rough sketches. |

Finally can get the new webpages to upload. Though still needs to do more fune-tuning & to settle the compability issues for other browsers... why aren't the codes standardise for all the browsers...? |

Registered my very first domain name. And after bidding goodbye to the free but horrible ads-filled subdomain I've been using for the past few days, started to plan on working my new webpages, plus more self-conducted intensive course on web design. Currently using my simple website to run the show. |
